I had an APC backup without AVR, and every time there was a little blip in the voltage my computer shut off with NO WARNING! Now I ask you, what is a battery backup supposed to be for anyway? The first day I used this battery backup by sheer coincidence the power dipped and it worked like a champ! The software is simple, easy to use, very intuitive and even shuts the computer down once a week automatically. It tests the battery once a month and lets you know when the battery needs to be changed. This battery backup and the accompanying software is everything a backup is supposed to be and more.

I was in search of a better compact battery surge protected and came to this item. Earlier versions (monster, et cetera) were used, but in time the battery did not sustain its energy and on occasion my computer shut down losing data.
