4 of 5 nice router, few shortcomings Tuesday, July 01, 2008

It's a nice router, easy to set up. Gives a good range, but I did find a few "blind spots" while setting it up in my house. Unfortunately, it only runs on 2.4 GHz and not on higher frequencies. Maybe SMC should think about that.

Has better radio signal strength than my Belkin early pre-N router. Still not enough to punch through all the metal in the petrified concrete and plastered walls of my house to the far end. Signal strength shows pretty good, but won't reliably transfer data. Besides my old house, I now have several neighbors nearby with wireless routers. I am sure this is causing me problems also. Be aware that this router is draft-N version 2.0.
