4 of 5 Can't beat it for the price point Tuesday, November 18, 2008
    Larry from Sylmar CA

I just couldn't justify buying the Bose version of this at the price they're charging. I've tried many different noise canceling phones in search of something satisfactory for a smaller bite out of my wallet. These headphones fill the bill with room to spare! They could be $150 and still be a good value. The sound better than any of the others that I've tried besides the Bose. If the price were the same, I'd take the Bose, but these give me close to 90% of the quality, at about 25% of the cost.

5 of 5 These are perfect... best set I have ever had Wednesday, September 10, 2008
    Bob Cichon from Phoenix, AZ
I would bet these are the best I ever had for Noise Cancel. The set is super easy to use, the case is hard shelled and perfect. I would recommend to anyone... (I have not owned Bose, but have used a pair a few times.. these are at least as good if not better)

5 of 5 Sturdy Headphones, Very Pleased Thursday, August 21, 2008
    Bryan from Houston
This is my first pair of noise-canceling headphones so I have nothing to compare them to but I am very pleased. I often work in coffee shops and background noise is no longer a problem. They seem well made and come with a nice case that is durable.

4 of 5 Good product, but may be improved Saturday, August 09, 2008
    Alex from Maple Grove, MN
Suppress noise well, but I still can hear people, which I do not want to. A bit tight on my ears. Also it puts some pressure on top of my head. In general, I would recommend it. It feels as a very high quality product, and it is. Good sound quality.

4 of 5 Well worth it Saturday, August 09, 2008
    Larry from Sylmar, CA
I am a headphone junkie and kind of picky. I have owned many many pairs of headphones in my life. These phones are well above average when it comes to noise canceling phones of this style. Better than the Sonys and pretty close to the much more expensive Bose. Excellent value, I recommend them.

5 of 5 Really nice for the price. Wednesday, July 30, 2008
    A Customer from Charlotte, NC
I did some research on NC headphones and these came out on top without putting a huge dent in my wallet like the Bose QCs. The noise canceling works wonders, especially on public transportation or in a noisy work environment. Sound quality is pretty good through my ipod nano. Only complaint is that after prolong use, my left ear began hurting, not internally but the cartilage. I guess if any headphone is on your ears for >4 hours, it will tend to start hurting. Overall, I am really happy with this purchase.

5 of 5 Excellent Panasonic quality and performance Monday, July 21, 2008
    raytube720 from Castle Rock, CO
Like another reviewer, I too shopped every 'on the shelf' model of NC headphones I could find. All failed for various reasons. High cost, flimsy, bad performance, bad style kept me going thru headphones. Bose, JVC, Sony, Senn, Logitech all failed my parameters. I ordered the Pana set online, dubious about ordering something w/o testing it first. My previous exp. w/ Pana and other online reviews gave me that confidence. I have not been disappointed on this one. I use mine primarily on flights (every week). Hardshell case that can hold MP3 player and gum: check. Removable audio cord so you won't get bothered to take them off when landing or takeoff: check. Standard batteries: check. Over the ear comfort and isolation: check. Excellent NC w/ no hiss: check. Quality sound performance: check. Affordable price: check. They can't match the Bose bass response, so what. I put these on a plane, sitting in front, beside, or behind jets or props and just fade away. I don't ever notice the screaming babies or anything. I enjoy the isolation so much, I leave them on until we are at the gate.

    5 of 5 good deal Wednesday, June 18, 2008
    A Customer from MD
nice overall product. lightweight, but really muffles all sound as it encloses your entire ear. I got it for a good deal with rebate, but it's still a good deal without.

    5 of 5 Great Wednesday, June 11, 2008
    A Customer from Baltimore, MD
These things mask the noise from ac brilliantly, and the sound is excellent. Even the unbelievably loud jackhammer outside my office pretty much disappears. As, I believe, is true of most such devices, high pitched sounds and intermittent sounds aren't blocked as well. I can keep the volume much lower than I normally would and hear Glen Gould humming while he plays. Really a revelation. Easily worth the price, especially with the rebate.

5 of 5 Compare to Skull Candy & Ultimate Ears Sunday, June 08, 2008
    Jeff from Washington, DC
I now own three noise cancelling headphones. The Panasonic, the Skull Candy Proletariat and the in-ear Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro. I bought the Panasonic on a friend's recommendation due to some dissatisfaction with the other two. First, the Skull Candy is bigger, heavier and the plastic head strap is less flexible. These three factors make the Skull Candy less comfortable. Testing the noise canceling feature by turning an air puriifer on high and then listening to both standing near it, the Panasonic cancelled out more of the noise from the air filter fan. I also detected that the higher end sounds on the Panasonic are brighter and more distinct. The Panasonic folds flat in a case that also has room for an mp3 player while the Skull Candy folds into a ball about the size of a softball or grapefruit. While the Panasonic "package" is not small its shape makes it fit a better in an attache or computer case. Lastly, while both cords unplug from the headset, the Panasonic cord is thin and less robust than the Skull Candy but more importantly, the plug receptacle on the Panasonic headphone is recessed and the diameter of the hole is small so my Skull Candy cord or a standard Radio Shack (for example)replacement cord won't fit. The Ultimate Ears sound is very bright and really excellent, no question about it. The issues are these: In order to get the noise cancelling benefit, the phones have to seal the ear canal. Try as I might (with the different size ear cups) I can't maintain a good seal unless I sit absolutely still on the plane. Hence, I am constantly readjusting and by the end of a flight of 3 hours my ears really hurt. Obviously these ear buds are the most portable and take up almost no space.

1 of 5 Uncomfortable and don't work on fans Thursday, June 05, 2008
    A Customer from Washington, DC
The headphones are hot, pick up too much interference from cell phones, and managed to remove low level background noise so that noise (some cooling fans) that I wanted them to block out is even more pronounced. I'm returning them.

    5 of 5 Great Bargain! Monday, April 21, 2008
    Mark M. from Hayward, Ca.
In the past I've purchased several different models of Noise Cancellation headphones only to be disappointed and subsequently returning the low quality product for a refund. However these Panasonic headphones are wonderful! An employee of mine had both versions of the Bose headphones (QC2 & QC3) and Panasonic will either meet or exceed performance levels any day of the week. I live in a condo with extremely loud neighbors so I was looking for something to cancel out the loud "thump" noise cause from tweekers pacing back and forth. Well these did the trick and my life is back to normal. And let's not forget about the sound quality while listening to music or playing video games. The bass and treble qualities are amazing, especially for the price. Don't even bother with the Phillips brand from Costco, they're junk!

    5 of 5 not bad Sunday, April 20, 2008
    A Customer from SJ, CA
These headphones fit comfortably. The noise cancellation is very good. Compared to the Sony NC-22, NC-11, and NC-20 that I have, it feels like I can wear these longer. I wanted to get away from earbuds because they make my ears sore after a few hours. You can definitely feel the pressure from the noise cancellation. The first time it was uncomfortable for me, but you should get used to it. One shortcoming is that when the noise cancellation is off, the sound is a bit muddy. The highs are not there. When you turn on the noise cancellation, the highs come in and you lose some of the bass. In some ways I like the sound with it turned off. You can, of course, adjust the top and bottom end on your music source to match your preferences. It works fine with both of my iPods, my desktop PC, and my PSP. Another shortcoming is that the sound bleeds from the earcups and you can hear what the person is listening to. It doesn't really matter when you are in an airplane... Given the price, it is a much better value than the Bose. I have used the Bose and I really can't tell the difference. We'll see what happens in an airplane.
